Summer Rain 02:34
Jane, I've been running out of reasons to blame myself Wait, I've been waiting on a reason to change But I won't Pray, That with the morning sun will come The Summer Rain
2.
Winter Storm 04:00
Drifting down the Mass Pike Running from a late winter storm Going to New Haven Trying to catch the next train north Got a wedding down in Newport And they say there will be gin Know the bride can't stand me But tomorrow we'll be kin Showed up stone cold sober I felt out of place Lost my car keys at the party And I had to get away That's okay I don't mind We're just trying to have a little fun Grab her hand give her a spin And tell her she's the only one Buy her a drink she looks good in pink Yeah we're all, trying to have a little fun Strolling through the Village And the hour's getting late So I called her a cabby When I said she couldn't stay She just told me that she loved me But she must go home On a New York City Sunday When the lights are low That's okay I don't mind We're just trying to have a little fun Grab her hand give her a spin And tell her she's the only one Buy her a drink she looks good in pink Yeah we're all, trying to have a little fun

Just watch the wind Don't hit the breaks It ain't too late babe No it ain't too late To go and find the wine That's your brothers car I never seen in before It ain't too late babe No it ain't too late To go and find the wine It's about the time The sun is ours Once it sets It's too early baby Too early for that Go and find the wine It's about the time Let's get drunk For old time's sake Mess around No it ain't too late To watch me burn Out back again Grab the corkscrew baby Oh, lets give it a rest Go and find the wine It's about the time That's your brother's car I never seen it before

Magdalene 03:43
Fall into the blue skies Fall into the sea Fallen just to kill time Fallen into me Sixth Avenue's the west side It's chilly in the streets I'm walking just to kill time Walking into me I'm broken down at first light Broke down on my knees Broken just to kill time Broken out of me The fireplace is empty She sleeps on satin sheets Running to the countdown Of her little disbelief Little Magdalene Will I ever see you again?
5.
Linger 04:19
There's a place I like to go The spirit's thick where the sunset hits And everyone I know Comes around to be a part of it Laziness, a pack of six Afternoons and cigarettes The girl I knew could sing the best Melody went like this Linger on the evening's past Hold me we'll make this last As we walk into the moon The waves are crashing in And time is running out This life we're spinning in Is foaming at the mouth And if you see the other side tonight Somewhere in the firelight Won't you come along? Linger on the evening's past Hold me we'll make this last As we walk into the moon

about

Tight compositions and innovative soundscapes are populated by sketches of love and loss on Instant Treeline's debut release, Morning Songs. The album is grounded in classic songwriting traditions and it’s intricate, unexpected structures are filled with resonant pop sensibility.

As an album, Morning Songs looks hopefully into universal, ordinary life. The opening track, Summer Rain, is a meditation on baptismal change and the follow up, Winter Storm, is a screaming reflection on movement, progress and adventure. Go and Find the Wine, is a quick track that speaks a message of rebirth that is at once optimistic and slightly pathetic. Magdalene is a prayer for a return to normalcy.

And Linger … well … Linger’s got a lot of fans.
