'Come Back Roses,' is Will Leet's debut full length LP. It is the ultimate collection of genre-spanning songs written by Will Leet and Christopher Burns over the last 10 years. The album was produced by Will Leet. In December 2019, basic tracking began on a tape reel at Dreamland Studios in Kingston, NY. Over the course of the next two years, we branched out to five other studios across New York, Connecticut, and California, and involved over 25 musicians.

The record doesn't adhere to one genre. Each song commits fully to whatever it is in that moment; folk, hard rock, country, pop, bluegrass, and even baroque pop. The common thread is in the story telling. Each song calls for different ingredients to tell the tales. I hope you enjoy this 43 minute journey!

You are stuck in the Garden State And I can't tend to anything I'm a wildflower thief until it starts to rain In case of drought I think I'll go insane You can call this house your home And I got everywhere to go roam I'm a wildflower thief until it starts to rain In case of drought I think I'll go insane I'm a wildflower thief until it starts to rain In case of drought I think I'll go insane I'm a wildflower thief until it starts to rain

Cloudy Day 03:53
Hey, how ya been? Man we were just kids Playing pretend Thought that it might never end Here I stand With all the things I could have been Playing pretend Playing, playing, playing... Came into my world It's taken a while for you now You are not to blame For keeping it all to yourself Like a cloudy day You just won't rain I wanna dwell in your memory I betcha still smile when you think of me Like a cloudy day that just won't rain You just won't rain In that life There was no deadline To our time Playing, playing, playing... You came into my world It'll take you a while to get out You are not to blame For keeping it all to yourself Like a cloudy day You just won't rain I wanna dwell in your memory I betcha still smile when you think of me Like a cloudy day that just won't rain No matter how many times you wanted to be I never thought you were no mystery Like a cloudy day That just won't rain You just won't rain You just won't rain

County Fair 04:18
Goin' down to the county fair Even though I met you there Doesn't mean I love you Took a ride on the carousel Got on the Gravitron 'Til I didn't feel well I know it never made you sick Lots of things never made you sick Like riding in the back of the bus Eating food that truckers bought We were just sixteen, born in 1993 Fannie Mae cleaned out your dad's IRA So you couldn't go to college You just stuck around town 'Til one day you find yourself It's good enough for now Got a part time job at the flower shop Trimming the trees and driving a truck You work with a high school kid who sells you pot la-da-di-da, la-da-di-da Tears went down your face When you threw your trophies away Fannie Mae cleaned out your dad's IRA Hooray! Goin' down to the county fair Even though I met you there Doesn't mean I love you I guess I never loved you I guess I never loved you I guess I never loved you

Well on the day that I left town I took you to the lost and found Your antique typewriter broke down And left a tattoo of the sound Chalk it up to luck That as I come undone You never made me run I think you're gonna be my Louisiana Goodbye I think you're gonna be my reason for a good time I packed up the photos that you loved You didn't even notice I was gone There ain't nothing we can talk about Without a heartache going down Woah now, we're falling out What's the speed of sound? Oh honey, I can't hear you now I think you're gonna be my Louisiana Goodbye I think you're gonna be my reason for a good time Woah now, we're falling out What's the speed of sound? Oh honey, I can't hear you now I think you're gonna be my Louisiana Goodbye I think you're gonna be my reason for a good time Louisiana Goodbye Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

NYC Cowboy 05:21
He called himself a New York City Cowboy He happened to drive the midtown bus Never felt the healing of the highway Florida bound, our hero was He didn't even care to call his mother When he left his wife and kids behind With $20 and a pack of soda Southern shores were on his mind Freeway, freeway, freeway Holiday Inn This bus only stops around the bend Won't be long till your money runs out And your wife comes to bail you out Freeway, freeway, freeway Holiday Inn This bus only stops around the bend On his way he met a hitching sailor He did not know he wanted company How could he know so far from home The sailor man was on the lamb, For cheating and robbery Freeway, freeway, freeway Ain't with me Go on, get away I'm not your accessory Won't be long till the man finds out And all your luck's run out It's a one way ticket to the penitentiary Freeway, freeway, freeway ain't with me
7.
Magdalene 04:21
Fall into the blue skies Fall into the sea Falling just to kill time Falling into me Sixth Avenue's the west side It's chilly in the streets I'm walking just to kill time Walking into me I'm broken down at first light Broke down on my knees Broken just to kill time Broken out of me The fireplace is empty She sleeps on satin sheets Running to the countdown Of a little disbelief Little Magdalene Little Magdalene Little Magdalene Little Magdalene Will I ever see you again? Again? Oh, will I ever see you See you again? I wanna see you again Will I ever see you See you again, again? Oh will I ever see you See you again Again, again

Take Highway 55 to Memphis Go to a bar named Tripoli Ask the bartender for Alice Pickin' a guitar on her knee Well I'm twelve long miles from Memphis I can see the lights on Tripoli So I called the bartender for Alice Said she was waiting on me Play Alice, play Play your song for me Play it soft and play it sweet You already know what I wanna hear, Alice You even know my favorite key Alice was sitting in the front seat When the flashing lights came from behind So I pulled off the road, no cop in sight. Just them goddamn martians on the Arkansas line! Play Alice, play Play your song for me Play it soft and play it sweet You already know what I wanna hear, Alice You even know my favorite key Alice and the wind Are the two things in life That I know to be free Alice and the wind They always seem to leave Oh they're blowing like the breeze

Kiss me, miss me, dearly darlin' I got nowhere to go There are no wings beneath my feet I left them out on loan Take from me just what you need, and Get on with the show Well I've been to Paris I've been to France I've been all around the world Thought I was livin' And thought I was bein' But those were just words Now I'm talking On my own record I wonder what they'll say All I know is I'm not famous Oh, but you'll be someday So kiss me, miss me, dearly darlin' I got nowhere to go There are no wings beneath my feet I left them out on loan Take from me just what you need, and Get on with the show It won't be long Till I find You're doing fine on your own If in the race You fall behind You can call me home It won't be long Till I find You're doing fine on your own If in the race You fall behind You can call me home It won't be long Till I find You're doing fine on your own If in the race You fall behind You can call me home You can call me home So kiss me, miss me, dearly darlin' I've got nowhere to go There are no wings beneath my feet I left them out on loan And if your ragtime fits the bill, well Get on with the show Get on with it, go

Thought I lived a long life Maybe even two But the Devil he's a waiting To come and get his due Goodbye red sky Hello blue The sailor's fine, he's got his wine There's nothing left to do Take a wing and learn to fly No one's ever gonna see you cry Satan he's a friend of mine It's not a deal it's just a compromise It's a long damn road But it's only lonely if you try Thought I lived a long life Maybe even two But the Devil he's a waiting To come and get his due Goodbye red sky Hello blue The sailor's fine, he's got his wine There's nothing left to do Take an inch and get a mile Here's a ditty if you need a smile Take a sip right out the cup Just before it goes out of style It's a long damn road But it's only lonely if you try Thought I lived a long life Maybe even two But the Devil he's a waiting To come and get his due Goodbye red sky Hello blue The sailor's fine, he's got his wine There's nothing we can do It's a long damn road But it's only lonely if you try It's a long damn road But it's only lonely if you try It's a long damn road But it's only lonely if you try

Rainbow 03:25
Got run out of Boston Got run out of Baton Rouge Everybody knows You've got nothing to show And nothing left to lose Can't be bought or sold I don't take the freeway anymore Where's the pot of gold? I don't see the rainbow anymore If I ever fly to heaven Then the Lord must be a fool Everybody knows That I skipped the toll I'm just another ruse Can't be bought or sold I don't take the freeway anymore Where's the pot of gold? I don't see the rainbow anymore I'm gonna wear white robe Steal a halo from my lovers bed I won't be denied Look at me now, beyond the sky Can't be bought or sold I don't take the freeway anymore Where's the pot of gold? I don't see the rainbow anymore Can't be bought or sold Can't be bought or sold Can't be bought or sold I don't see the rainbow anymore
